Ground Beef Pea Curry

Pretty good if I say so myself! Again, did not make this with intention. Was planning on doing beef with egg noodles but I remembered seeing a beef and pea curry in a recent cookbook called “Milk Street”. So voila, I made an attempt!

Easy “peasy”. What you’ll need:

  • 1 lb Ground Beef

  • 1.5 cup of frozen peas

  • 1 can crushed tomatoes

  • 1 cup Water

  • 1/2 can tomatoe paste or strained Tom sauce

  • Salt & Pepper

  • 2 big Shallots

  • 2 tbsp of fresh grounded Ginger

  • 2-3 tbsp of Garam Marsala

Oil a heated pan, throw the shallots in until browned. Throw in the ginger with the garam marsala, stir around. Toss the crushed tomatoes and paste with one cup of water and let boil and simmer for 5-10 minutes. Place your ground beef in and cook. Finally, the peas. Easy and packed with flavor! Salt and pepper to taste. Serve with basmati rice, naan and garnish with green onions, cilantro and plain Greek yogurt! Enjoy!
